Back East Ltd. is a residential construction studio founded in 1990 and based in Morgantown, West Virginia. We build custom homes, additions, and considered renovations across the region for clients who care as much about how the work is done as what it looks like when it's finished.

Since incorporating in 1990, Back East has built a body of residential work that ranges from additions and interior renovations to large custom estates.
We approach every project the same way: open communication, one accountable team, and a refusal to compromise on the details that owners will live with for decades. Many of our clients come to us specifically because they expect privacy and discretion alongside meticulous construction, and for that reason, only a portion of our work is shown publicly. The projects featured on this site appear with the explicit permission of the owners.
The result is a studio that has stayed deliberately small, taken on a limited number of projects each year, and built a strong reputation among owners who know the difference between a house that was assembled and a home that was built.
